What do we do?
We've handpicked the most exciting job websites from around the world. We've trawled youtube and found inspirational videos to pick you up if you're feeling a bit over (or under!) whelmed about your graduate prospects. We've interviewed amazingly inspirational graduates and asked them for their advice. You're unique and your career should be too, so we aim to cater for a wide range of industries for graduates with a wide range of degrees.
Fancy going further afield? We'll help you make money on the road, We've got travel advice, a great selection of bloggers to help you find your way and we've hand chosen some amazing volunteering organisations.
We're constantly searching for the coolest links. So instead of trawling through thousands of websites...and quite frankly, wasting your time...you've got access to all the best ones, right here.
Why did we set up The Cool Graduate?
We set up The Cool Graduate because we believe that careers advice and support is so often outdated and not in line with the reality of the working world. The last 10 years has seen an incredible shift in business and technology, and the Times Top 100 graduate schemes simply doesn't reflect the full range of career opportunities out there, yet careers advice relies on this resource as there is very little else out there. Throughout our final year at university, we lost count of the number of times we were asked "So...what are your plans for after uni?". We felt like we had to decide on the career for life, but we weren't sure what we wanted to. So many people around us were frantically juggling their dissertations while applying for graduate schemes they didn't really understand just to try and "succeed". We turned to our careers advisers for help and they looked at us, with blank faces, "you want to work in the charity sector? We can't really help you with that." And that was that. We, as a generation of graduates, quite simply, deserve better.
Have you come to the right website?

My name is Elizabeth Bailie and I graduated from the University of Exeter in 2013. Determined not to sell out to a grad scheme that I didn't really want, I moved to Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean to teach English. I then moved to Mayotte, an island between Madagascar and Mozambique to work in communications for a French charity. For the last two years, I have worked as the General Manager for The Responsible Safari Company in Malawi.
Passionate about having an ethical career, living abroad, innovative solutions and having fun in life - The Cool Graduate is my brainchild. It's constantly evolving, don't hesitate to get in touch if you want to be a part of the idea.
